Obituary

Ruby Jeanette Wade-Rotramel, beloved mother, grandmother, and foster parent, passed away on July 9, 2021, at the age of 69. She was born in Kokomo, IN, on May 14, 1952, and most recently resided in Wichita, KS.

Ruby had a passion for cooking and was known for her delicious meals, especially her favorite foods, cottage cheese and fruit, and popcorn. She also enjoyed spending her time reading Nora Roberts books and cherished moments with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and foster children.

Graduating from IU with a bachelor's degree in Business, Ruby was a successful business owner. Her proudest accomplishments included raising not only her own children, Melissa, John, Richard, Jaime, and Holly, but also adopting and fostering many children, including her granddaughters Aubrey and Addylyn Rotramel, Danielle Vette, and DJ Vennimon.

Ruby's favorite place in the world was the dining room in her home, where she often gathered with her loved ones. She found joy in watching her favorite TV shows like Supernatural and Criminal Minds. While she didn't care much for sports, her love and care for others knew no bounds.

Known as "Mamaw" to her family, Ruby was intelligent and kind-hearted. She believed in the power of words and encouraged others never to say things in anger that cannot be taken back. She impacted the lives of many through her unwavering support, always opening her door and providing food to those in need.

Together with her husband Roy Rotramel, Ruby took in foster children for 15 years, offering them love, stability, and hope for a brighter future. She was involved in her community, dedicating her time to being a subparent for children whose lives had been shattered.

Ruby Jeanette Wade-Rotramel will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepchildren, siblings, and all those whose lives she touched. Her legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness will forever be cherished.
