Spending time with his life-long friends Ann and Willie Alexander are special people in the Roberson family's lives. Willie and Bobby were friends since grade school. Their families took vacations together and were always included in family events. They are the godparents of two of our grandchildren. They visited Bobby when he was no longer able to get out, sitting around the kitchen reminiscing over "popcorn and soda". Family can be more than blood relatives and we are grateful that the Alexanders are part of ours. He had two "Bonus" sons: Vandie Mims and Keith Crawley.

Robert, known affectionately as Bobby, attended Fourth Street Elementary School, Roosevelt Junior High School, and graduated from North Division High School in January 1955. He met his wife, Patricia Juanita Flowers, at a roller rink in Milwaukee, and they were married in March 1955.
