He was quick witted and was always the funniest person in the room.
Jerry (jay) Lineberger, born on September 12, 1959, in Texarkana, TX-Texarkana, AR, passed away on November 15, 2024, in Fayetteville, AR. Jay was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Jay was married to Tammy Lineberger, and together they raised a loving family. He was the proud father of Madison, Jeremy, and Lindsay. And proud grandfather of Brodie, Peyton, Hasley, and Haven, who were the light of his life. Jay cherished every moment spent with his family, as they were his everything.
Known affectionately as "Jay (the hog)," he was a charismatic, outgoing individual with a quick wit that made him the life of any gathering. Jay had a passion for music, often playing guitar and drums with friends, and he loved listening to his favorite band, Lynyrd Skynyrd and George Strait. He enjoyed playing music and sharing laughter, and his impact on others was profound; everyone who met him would remember his infectious spirit.
Professionally, Jay was a dedicated Washington County deputy Sheriff and an accomplished car salesman at Superior Nissan, excelling in every role he took on. He was known for his strong Christian beliefs and his unwavering faith in God and Jesus. His favorite quote, “You ain’t right, but you ain’t wrong,” perfectly encapsulated his humorous and down-to-earth personality.
In his leisure time, Jay loved watching football, particularly cheering for the Hogs, and indulging in his favorite foods, especially seafood and catfish. He enjoyed the classic charm of "The Andy Griffith Show" and found joy in movies like "Being There" and "The Great Santini."
Jay's home was his favorite place in the world, where he created lasting memories surrounded by his loved ones. His legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
