In humble submission to the will of the Almighty, we announce the peaceful passing of James "Pops" E. Johnson, aged 79, on February 22, 2024, in Minneapolis, MN. Born on August 3, 1944, in Bastrop, LA, his life was a testament to the virtues of simplicity, gratitude, and reverence for all creation.
James is lovingly remembered by his progeny, who continue to walk in the light of his wisdom: his children, James Johnson, Helen Johnson, and Scott Johnson; and his cherished grandchildren, Jordian, Markis, Tina, Ebony, Drevon, Andrew, Jaydin, Brendan, and Joshua. They mirror the love and strength he so generously bestowed upon them.
He now reunites with those who have gone before him into the Kingdom of Eternal Peace: his father, Earnest Johnson; his mother, Doris Greene; his beloved daughter, Lucy Johnson; and his brother, Thomas Franklin.
With hearts full of gratitude for his enduring legacy, a service to honor James will be held on February 27th, 2024, in Minneapolis, MN. In this sanctuary, we shall gather to commend his soul to our Heavenly Father and to celebrate a life rich in love, faith, and humble service.
