Guadalupe Castillo, lovingly known as Lupe, passed away on May 9, 2024, just one day shy of her 83rd birthday. She was born on May 10, 1941, in Texas and had most recently resided in Janesville, WI.
Lupe was a remarkable woman who found joy in the simplest of things. Her favorite hobbies included spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking delicious meals, shopping, tending to her garden, and watching baseball. Nothing brought her more happiness than being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lupe had a deep love for baseball and could often be found cheering on her favorite team. She was married to her devoted husband, Benito Castillo, for an incredible 60 years. Lupe's superpower was the ability to make mouthwatering tortillas, a skill that was cherished by all who were fortunate enough to taste them.
Her proudest accomplishments and contributions were undoubtedly her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children Dolores Guerrero (Angelo Guerrero), Doris Castillo, and Danny Castillo (Araceli Castillo). Her grandchildren include Benny Castillo, Celeste Cullen (Ty Cullen), Ross Perkins (Mykayla Perkins), Zane Gonzalez, Michael Perkins (Emily Perkins), and Raeya Gonzalez.
Lupe was an independent and nurturing woman who radiated unconditional love. Her resilience was truly inspiring. She turned the hardships in her life into something beautiful, joyous, and sentimental. Her legacy will be forever cherished by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
In loving memory of Guadalupe Castillo, a celebration of her life will be held to honor her remarkable journey and the love she shared with her family.
