Donald Wayne Nicolson, lovingly known as Don, peacefully passed away on June 18, 2024, in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. Born on November 12, 1956, in Portland, Don spent his entire life in the city he called home.

Don had a genuine zest for life and enjoyed simple pleasures. His favorite pastimes included watching television and spending quality time with his beloved grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his days. Don had a particular fondness for fried chicken and pizza, always savoring these dishes with a smile on his face.

A remarkable fact about Don's life was his service as an Army Ranger. At the young age of 17, he joined the Army during the final months of the Vietnam War. Don's bravery and dedication earned him numerous accolades, including the Medal of Honor, Silver Star, and Purple Heart. His military service was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his country.

Despite his achievements, Don's proudest accomplishments were his ten children: Conner, Chad, Charlie, Carl, Clay, Clint, Curt, Corey, Chris, and Christina. He cherished every moment spent with them and took immense pride in watching them grow.
