Born September 8th, 1953 in Phoenix, Arizona, David was the son of Herschel and Virginia Flowers. He spent most of his life in Claremore and Broken Arrow before returning to Arizona. David was a great football player for the Broken Arrow Tigers.
David worked in the tire business his entire career. He established his tire store in 1992. David was the very best grandfather and great grandfather and he loved his family dearly. He loved Taco Tuesday at El Azteca's where the family came together weekly.
Known around Claremore to be quite the hero, David and his brother Robert once saved the lives of two other people drowning on Oologah Lake. David later founded the Oologah Jackpot bass fishing tournament. David was a huge supporter of our veterans. He organized the Flower's Annual Dove Hunt near Talala, where hundreds of veterans came together every year. Claremore and Phoenix will truly miss David Flowers.
David always referred to his family as his tribe or clan. Surviving tribal members include his children: Shawn Flowers , and Angelia Byington and her husband, Benjamin; his grandchildren: Camden Flowers Murray, Jake Williams and his wife, Rachael, Jazmine Flowers, and Easton Byington; his great grandchildren: Jerzei Murray, Rhett Flowers, and Kael Williams; his siblings: Robert Flowers and his wife, Karen, and Kathy Flowers; his nephews: Chris and Brian Flowers; and two men who were like his sons, Joe Wasserman and Leroy Ross.
