Known around Claremore to be quite the hero, David and his brother Robert once saved the lives of two other people drowning on Oologah Lake. David later founded the Oologah Jackpot bass fishing tournament. David was a huge supporter of our veterans. He organized the Flower's Annual Dove Hunt near Talala, where hundreds of veterans came together every year. Claremore and Phoenix will truly miss David Flowers.
David always referred to his family as his tribe or clan. Surviving tribal members include his children: Shawn Flowers , and Angelia Byington and her husband, Benjamin; his grandchildren: Camden Flowers Murray, Jake Williams and his wife, Rachael, Jazmine Flowers, and Easton Byington; his great grandchildren: Jerzei Murray, Rhett Flowers, and Kael Williams; his siblings: Robert Flowers and his wife, Karen, and Kathy Flowers; his nephews: Chris and Brian Flowers; and two men who were like his sons, Joe Wasserman and Leroy Ross.
