He grew up in the 70's era, he enjoyed a variety of artists like Luther Van dross, Whitney, Keith Sweat and many others.
He served in the U.S.Army and received many metals for his services which included: Marksman and Sharpshooter.
Than relaxing and watching a good football game.

Zannie Thomas Holmes, aged 64, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 30, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Born June 10, 1961, and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, he received his education through New Orleans area schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington Sr. High, where he cherished his time on the football team. Afterwards, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and became an equipment and parts specialist. While he served, he received an Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon and certification to be a Rifle M-16 Marksman and Hand Grenade Sharpshooter.
He was a dedicated father and hardworking man who was a friend to everyone he met. He was employed at various locations in New Orleans, such as the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, Tulane Medical Center, Leidenheimer Bakery, and the Yellow Cab Company.
Later in life, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he lived and worked for 25 years. An avid lover of music and film, he found joy from the simple things in life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Avon Holmes, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Albertine Holmes; his daughter, Brittany Ford; his son, Isaiah Holmes; three brothers, Avon Holmes, Jr., Michael Holmes (Pamela) of Sparks, NV., and Dennis Holmes (Stanislav Tsoy) of Los Angeles, CA.; three sisters, Terri Holmes Fazande and Angelique Holmes of New Orleans, LA., and Shemeka Bryant of Gulfport, MS., and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He will always be in our hearts and dearly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Thompson Temple,1515 Whitney Ave., Gretna, LA 70053, on Saturday. August 2, 2025, at 11 am.
The Inurnment will take place on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 11 am at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 94888 Grantham College Drive, Slidell, LA 70460. https://www.premierfuneralstn.com
