Yolande loved spending time tending to her garden.

Yolande enjoyed the musical talents of the Christian band “Mercy Me”.
Yolande truly had a passion for singing and she was blessed with the talent for playing the guitar.
Yolande loved spending down time watching foreign films, from Chinese and Korean cultures. Which she would spend reading the subtitles.

Yolande loved to watch “American Idol”. As a singer, she was always the “At Home Judge.”
Yolande was a fan of basketball and tennis.

Yolande Kay Dawson, affectionately known as Loo-Loo, passed away on August 6, 2024, at the age of 68. She was born on March 8, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, and most recently resided in Davenport, Florida.
Yolande had a vibrant personality characterized by her sweet and kind-hearted nature. As a passionate musician, she brought joy to those around her through her love for singing and her talent for playing the guitar. She enjoyed the uplifting music of the Christian band Mercy Me and spent countless hours watching her favorite show, American Idol, where she often took on the role of “At Home Judge.”
In her leisure time, Yolande found solace in her garden, cultivating her love for nature. She had a particular fondness for Chinese food, especially egg foo young, and cherished the experience of watching foreign films, often immersing herself in the cultures of China and Korea through their subtitles. Her favorite place in the world was California, where she found peace and happiness.
Yolande was deeply committed to her family and is survived by her loved ones, including her children and grandchildren, Cherie, Leeona, DeJon, Tiana, Julian, Isis, Ash, Sebastian, Londyn, Tristan, Xander, and Zaya. She also leaves behind her mother,Shirley DeLores, and siblings Garland, Thea, and Toni.
Her generous spirit was evident in her dedication to feeding the homeless during the holidays, a proud accomplishment that showcased her compassion for others. As a devoted Christian and follower of Jesus, Yolande impacted the lives of many with her unwavering support and kindness.
Yolande will be remembered for her joyful heart, her love of music, and her unwavering commitment to her family and community. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Yolande’s wish was to have her ashes scattered at a beautiful botanical garden. She did not have the desire for a funeral service but if her family desires a dinner/memorial she was open to that idea. Please only contribute if your goal is to honor her wishes. Thank you
