My brother passed away very suddenly at the beginning of the week. I am truly heartbroken, but would like to share a bit about him. He wasn’t a perfect person, but he was the best at everything. He graduated from medical school at UW as valedictorian, and pursued a neurosurgical fellowship shortly after. He was a loving brother and son, who strived to do his best for all of us. Although I was his annoying little sister, he was my cool brother that taught me how to play Pokémon and hide new cards from mom and dad. They would always force you guys to include me, and you would throw a nickel in a the grass and tell me to go find it. Dad didn’t think it was very funny, but I always brought my 5 cent treasure back to you with a smile on my face. I remember the time you told dad found me under a rock, and he could return me anytime. You told me I was born with my ears flopped over like Dobby and that’s why there aren’t many baby pictures of me. You told me they had to fix them with surgery, and swore me to secrecy. I finally asked dad when I was a teenager, and found out after all those years I wasn’t a kid with house elf ears. I would do anything to pick green beans at grandma’s with you again. We used to try and pick them by the roots, which worked until grandma finally caught on. You’re gone and the memories are flooding. Although all of our days weren’t always good, you always let your GI Joe’s be Barbie’s husband when no one else would. You were there for me when no one else was, and I wish that could’ve remained true. We weren’t much for words, but you deserved this. Our lives were unfair. You knew my deepest secrets, fears, but the joys I have as well. Thank you for everything you taught me, Tutu. From “Beaches:” Cici: I know everything there is to know about you, and my memory is very, very long. Hillary: I’m counting on it.
We'll plant real trees for you in Xatu's memory and display your contribution forever.
