William Tyree Lampkin Sr.
April 26, 1947 - January 3, 2024

William Tyree Lampkin Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024, in Houston, Tx at the age of 76. He was born on April 26, 1947, in Harwood, TX, to his loving parents.

Bill, as he was affectionately called by those who knew him best, had a zest for life and a heart full of love. He lived life to the fullest, always cherishing the simple pleasures. Fishing and cooking were among his favorite hobbies, and he had a talent for whipping up a delicious pot of gumbo that delighted his family and friends.

Music was a source of joy for Bill, and he had a special fondness for the O’jays. He also had a passion for football, having played the sport professionally in his younger years. Later on, he pursued a successful career as a truck driver.

Above all, Bill treasured his family more than anything else. His wife, Ada Lampkin, was his rock and constant companion. Together, they raised a beautiful family and created lasting memories. He will be deeply missed by his children, Sonia Davis, William Lampkin Jr., Kerry Lampkin, Sandra Jackson, and Eddie Lampkin.

In addition to his children and wife, Bill is survived by his brothers, Troy Lampkin and Bobby Lampkin. He was a doting grandfather, adored by his grandchildren, who will forever cherish the love and guidance he provided.

Bill's impact on the lives of others was immeasurable. He was an amazing father and grandfather, always pushing his family to be outstanding individuals. Known for his kind and caring nature, he brought warmth and joy to everyone he encountered.

A man of faith, Bill was a devoted member of his local Baptist church and found solace in his spiritual beliefs.

A private service will be held to honor and celebrate the life of William Tyree Lampkin Sr. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire.
