William F Jones, affectionately known as "Big Billy," passed away on March 26, 2024, at the age of 73. He was born on March 13, 1951, in New Richmond, Ohio, where he most recently resided.

William was a dedicated maintenance man at River Downs throughout his career. He took great pride in his work and was well-respected by his colleagues and the community.

Outside of work, William had a passion for collecting guns and spent many hours adding to his collection. He enjoyed the thrill of seeking out unique pieces and learning about their history.

When he wasn't pursuing his hobbies, William adored spending time with his family. His wife, Hazel Jones, stood by his side throughout their journey together. Their devotion to one another was unwavering.

William was a loving and caring father to his children, Floyd Billy and Brenda. He cherished their company and always ensured they felt supported in their endeavors.

Being a beloved uncle was another defining aspect of William's life. He had a special bond with his many nieces and nephews and took great joy in being there for them as a guiding figure and source of love and laughter.

In his free time, William enjoyed watching Western movies, finding solace and entertainment in their timeless stories. He also had a sweet tooth and took great delight in indulging in his favorite foods, such as biscuits and gravy and strawberry cake.

William's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mildred Jones, who will surely welcome him with open arms in the afterlife.
