William Edward Simmons, known affectionately as Mr. Bill, passed away on October 20, 2024, at the age of 67. Born on March 13, 1957, in St. Louis, MO, he spent his final years in Stedman, NC, where he found joy in simple pleasures and cherished moments.

A proud veteran, Bill served 18 years in the military as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, a commitment that exemplified his dedication and resilience. After his military service, he became a beloved produce manager at Kinlaw's Supermarket, where he worked for over 35 years, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and customers alike.

An artist at heart, Bill had a remarkable gift for drawing, which he viewed as a divine talent. His passion for creativity was matched only by his love for his dog, Penelope, who brought him immense joy and companionship. Bill found peace and happiness at the beach, where he could spend countless hours listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean.

Bill enjoyed indulging in his favorite fried bologna sandwiches and was an avid fan of hockey, as well as documentary and true crime shows. Recently, he devoted his life to Christ, embracing a new chapter marked by faith and hope after overcoming years of addiction. His life motto, "Let me tell you about my JESUS," reflects the profound transformation he experienced.

William Edward Simmons leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and creativity. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
