William Edward Barker IV, known affectionately as Bill or Wizzard, passed away on December 30, 2024, in his hometown of Plaquemine, Louisiana, where he was born on July 29, 1956. A dedicated family man, Bill's greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren, whom he cherished deeply.
He was well known to everyone, from coaching baseball , to delivering crawfish, to helping anyone he could. He was a man who could make you laugh in the first few seconds of meeting him. Bill was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back even if it was freezing out. He was one of a kind.
Bill was a devoted father to Hannah & William Barker, Hannah Barker, Sarah Barker, Lydia Story, and Lezlie Nosaka. An amazing grandfather to his nine grandchildren. He was a brother cherished by, Mel Barker, Kathryn Leblanc, Elizabeth Barker, Nancy Barker, and his brothers, Walter and John Barker. He was also adored by his numerous nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Melvyn M. Barker, and William Edward Barker III. And his mother in law MERLINE Guillory, and his nephew Josh.
His love for his family was evident in everything he did. He would do anything for any one of them no matter what.
Professionally, Bill was known as a Safety Man, a role that reflected his hardworking nature and commitment to the well-being of those around him. He was admired for his dedication and impact on the lives of anyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bill was a faithful member of the Catholic Church, and his faith guided him throughout his life. As a husband to Rebecca Barker, he shared a loving partnership that enriched both of their lives for over 20 year a.
His legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Bill will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will forever be missed and remembered!!
