Obituary

William E. Hegyi, born on May 27, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on December 15, 2024, in Mantua, Ohio. He was a devoted family man, known for his love of nature and spending time outdoors.

William was an accomplished electrician, having owned and operated his own company, Atomic Electric, for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Hegyi, his sister, Diane Ezinski, and his late wife, Monica Lewis (Hegyi).

He is survived by his two sons, William (Sharon) Hegyi Jr. and Michael Hegyi; his daughter, Holly (Dan) Opalenik; his sister, Joanne Quinn; and his treasured grandchildren, Bryant, Shawn, Phoenix, Kayla, Tiffany, Samantha, and Jonathan, along with many great-grandchildren.

William cherished his time with family and friends, and he had a special fondness for Hocking Hills, which he considered his favorite place in the world. An avid baseball fan, he enjoyed watching games and sharing his passion for the sport with loved ones.

A private family event will be held on December 19, 2024, followed by his cremation on December 20, 2024, and interment on December 22, 2024. A public memorial to celebrate William's life will be announced at a later date. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
