Was an eye witness survivor of the atomic bomb that was dropped on Nagasaki while imprisoned in Japan

Preceded in death by parents, William Sr., Georgia Overton; Former wife, Margaret Wrenn Sloan; brothers, Howard & Russell; Grandson, Daryl Sloan. Survived by his loving wife, Mary Catherine Sloan; Sons, Ronnie (Ann) Sloan, Tom (Lynn) Sloan, Timmy Sloan, John and Michael Swift; Sisters, Marge (Norm) Rhodes & Rita (John) Carswell; Grandchildren; April, Wrenn, Lee, Amanda, Sean Swift; Great grandchildren, Braden, Ryan, & Harley.
