He loved steak and eggs, but nothing was better to him than his sister's homemade lasagna.
He was Military Police in the Airfare, and then was a police officer in Dallas, NC and Southport, NC
He loved watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. He loved being able to answer the clues before the contestants could.

Wayne Edward Halavats Sr, 67, was born on November 9, 1956, to William and Alice Halavats in Brooklyn, New York. He passed away on July 9, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona. Once he graduated high school, in Maryland, he joined the Air Force. Wayne was a Military Police Officer, and once he completed his service time, became a Police Officer in Dallas, North Carolina. He then moved to the Southport, North Carolina Police Department for a couple of years. While being a Police officer, he welcomed three children and decided to change career paths for something a bit safer. Wayne was a free spirit for a while prior to settling down in Phoenix, Arizona. He traveled the United States making friends everywhere he went. Wayne was preceded in death by his father William Halavats in 1973, his mother Alice Halavats in 1975, his older brother William "Billy" Halavats in 2001, and his younger brother Lawrence "Larry" Halavats in 2010. He is leaving a legacy to his daughter Heather Muga (Jason) of Fort Worth, Tx, Daughter Jennifer Hernandez (Fransico) of Beaumont, Texas, his son Wayne Halavats Jr of Beaumont, Texas. He is also survived by sister Peggy Tuttle (Bob) of Mesa, AZ, brother Harold "Hal" Halavats (Lyn) of Troy, MO, and a multitude of nices and nephews in Missouri, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
In lue of flowers, the family is asking tha ta donation be made in his memory to Mount of Olives Lutheran Church (food bank or vet in need) 3546 E Thomas Rd Phoenix, AZ 85018
we are having him cremated and taken back to texas where we will later have a grave side funeral for him
