Vixen Marie Sova, affectionately known as Lil moon, embarked on her final ride into the sunset on June 7, 2023, at the young age of 26. Born under the autumn leaves of Toronto, Canada, on September 27, 1996, she galloped through life with a spirit as wild and free as her beloved horses.

With a smile that could outshine the gloomiest day, Vixen faced life's hurdles with grace—even when life threw her a curveball with her brave battle against cancer. Her heart was as big as a Texas prairie, always ready to offer a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on.

The lead mare in her cherished herd, Vixen leaves behind two young colts, Sage and Sawyer, who were the apples of her eye. Whether in the saddle or on foot, she found her happiest moments with her children by her side, her laughter echoing across the fields.

Her academic trot at Louisiana State University was marked by the same zest and commitment she brought to all her endeavors. She was an alumna who truly bled purple and gold, enriching her mind while touching the lives of those around her.

Vixen is survived by her playful foals, Sage and Sawyer, and is now reunited with her own parents, Allison and Mark, in the great beyond. They've surely set up a heavenly homestead where the pastures are always green.

The South Houston Funeral Home, prancing at 1506 Houston Blvd, South Houston, TX 77587, is saddling up to support the family during this time. They're known for helping folks giddy up through tough times with grace and care.
