Her family
Virginia Wright, born November 12, 1949, in Tunica, Mississippi, peacefully departed this life on March 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication.
Virginia later made her home in Phoenix, Arizona, but her roots in Tunica always remained close to her heart. She was a woman of strength, grace, and unwavering care for others.
For 25 years, Virginia devoted her life to serving others as a registered nurse. Her hands brought comfort, her words brought peace, and her presence brought healing to countless patients and families. She retired at the age of 65, leaving behind a career marked by compassion and excellence.
Above all, Virginia cherished her family. She leaves to honor her memory her five loving daughters, one devoted son, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, along with a host of nieces and nephews who adored her deeply. She was preceded in death by her three sisters, two brothers, and one son.
Virginia will be remembered for her warm spirit, her gentle wisdom, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her legacy will continue to live on through the lives she touched and the family she nurtured.
A memorial service will be held at the President Building, 3092 Highway 61 South in Tunica, Mississippi, at 11:00 a.m. A repast will follow at 1027 Elm Drive in Tunica. An optional balloon release will take place at sunrise at White Oak Park.
A Grandmother’s Love
A grandmother’s love is a guiding light,
A warm embrace both day and night.
With gentle hands and a caring heart,
She gives her love from the very start.
Her stories linger, her laughter stays,
A golden thread through all our days.
Though she may rest, her love remains,
In quiet whispers and gentle rains.
Forever cherished, forever near,
In every smile, she still is here.
If you’d like, I can make it more formal, more religious, shorter for a program, or add specific names of her children and family.
