Vincent George Mellon, born on May 4, 1946, in Norwood, NY, passed away on December 17, 2024, in Oneida, NY. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and teacher, leaving behind a legacy of joy and dedication.

Vincent was a passionate physics teacher at Camden High School for nearly 40 years, where he also served as the head of the science department. His commitment to education extended beyond the classroom, as he coached his children's soccer, baseball, and tee-ball teams, as well as high school tennis, cross country, and track. He was known for his joyful spirit and ability to inspire students and athletes alike.

A member of the Rotary Club for 12 years, Vincent oversaw a foreign exchange program, welcoming students from around the world into his home. He and his wife, Linda, shared a love for travel, exploring Europe and the West Coast together, and hosted numerous foreign exchange students over the years.

An avid sports enthusiast, Vincent enjoyed golfing and bowling, and he ran multiple marathons, including the Boston Marathon at the age of 50. His zest for life was complemented by his love for family, including his son Jeff, daughter Danielle, and late son Bryan, along with his cherished grandchildren: Annabelle, Violet, George, and Arya.

Vincent’s impact on his community and those around him was profound. He will be remembered not only for his contributions as a teacher and coach but also for his joyful personality and the genuine care he showed to everyone he met. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of mentorship and love that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
