Veonia Phylliciana Hutchinson, affectionately known as Vee, Veeeeeeeerum, Rona, and Vona, passed away on August 2, 2024, in Spanish Town, Jamaica, her place of birth. Born on April 19, 1975, Veonia lived her entire life in Spanish Town, surrounded by her loved ones.

Veonia was a woman who valued family and friends above all else. Her love for her mother, as well as her extended family, was incomparable. Her infectious laughter and caring nature made her a loyal sister and a cherished friend. Veonia had an extroverted personality and was known for her straight-forwardness, often protecting those she cared about like a guardian. She had a nurturing side and was often seen mothering those around her.

One memorable anecdote that captures Veonia's essence is when she protected and consoled her college roommate, keeping her illness a secret from others. She organized weekly tea parties with her cousin Kalimah and had a special bond with her niece Khaliyah, whom she affectionately called Vona. Veonia had an unmatched memory and would often share stories, videos, and pictures to remind her loved ones of the intimate moments they shared.

Veonia impacted the lives of others through her unwavering love and forgiveness. She taught those around her to live life to the fullest, to laugh heartily, and to never waste an opportunity to express love. Veonia's belief in Christ Jesus formed the foundation of her spirituality and guided her actions throughout her life.

Antoniette Smith, Mosheena Burton, Kimberley Hardware, Greta Ferrarella, MaryLiz Hardware, Liztrelle Mangompit, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
