In Loving Memory of Vayna Rudine Cokley
November 2,1959 – January 30, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vayna Rudine Cokley, who departed this life on January 30, 2025, at the age of 65. Vayna was a woman of warmth and character, known for her love of classic films, especially Lifetime and old-time movies. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was singing along to her favorite group, The Commodores, or unwinding with a cold beer in hand.
Vayna dedicated her career to housekeeping, working diligently and taking pride in her efforts. Above all, she cherished her family. She leaves behind her two beloved children, Boykin Edward II and Latice Shandra Edwards.
She is also survived by her loving siblings: sisters Glenda (Cokley) McDowell, Lurise (Cokley) Walker, and Freda S. Cokley, as well as her brothers Joe Willie Cokley, Eddie B. Ross, and Edward Ross.
In heaven, she is reunited with her dear loved ones who gained their wings before her: her sister Ermagene (Cokley) Wyatt, Delphine (Cokley) Hearn, and Cassandra Cokley; her brother Calvin Reese Cokley; and her beloved parents, Mary Lucille Baker (Cokley) and Willie Reese Cokley.
Vayna’s love extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Her laughter, kindness, and presence will be forever cherished, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
We'll plant real trees for you in Vayna's memory and display your contribution forever.
