Vanessa Walters, born on August 19, 1991, in Odessa, TX, passed away on September 26, 2024, in her hometown. She was a devoted mother to her oldest daughter, Zarinatie Kinney, who can be described as her beautiful outgoing mini-me and Kelly Herrmann her selfless amazing gift to a wonderful family.
Vanessa graduated from Odessa High School in 2010 and worked as a Safety Technician at Standard Safety and Supply. She had a larger-than-life personality, known for her fiery spirit and her ability to light up any room. Vanessa loved to spend time riding her motorcycle, cheering on the sidelines of her daughter’s football games, and playing with children. An animal lover at heart, she dedicated much of her life to caring for, fostering, and transporting dogs across the country.
Her favorite pastimes included indulging in sweet treats like German chocolate cake and fruit, as well as enjoying music from artists like Jelly Roll and Lil Peep. A passionate advocate for the lost and addicted, Vanessa worked tirelessly to help others find sobriety, a journey she personally embraced. Her commitment to helping others extended into her community, where she supported the all-girls football team, the Bombshells, and actively participated in Alcoholics Anonymous.
Vanessa’s selfless act of organ donation saved six lives, embodying her unwavering dedication to helping those in need. Her love for family and friends was profound, as she always prioritized their well-being and happiness. She is survived by her parents, Martin and Karen Walters; sisters Ginger Frazier and Na'Tasha Granberry; brother Michael Walters; several nieces and nephews Kiersten, Zoe, Brooke, & William Frazier, Lily & Charles Buck, and Mila Walters; brother-in-laws William Frazier and Charles Buck; and her newly adopted daughter, Daniella Meierhoff.
Vanessa will be remembered for her loud laughter, her fierce loyalty, and her ability to make anyone feel welcome. She lived hard, played hard, and loved even harder, leaving behind memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her.
Vanessa's family would like to thank each and every person that came to support Vanessa and her family in our time of need. We would personally like to thank the Messengers group and the Broken Arrow group for not only being there everyday but spreading love and prayers. Thank you for escorting her on each journey. Finally we want to thank the ER staff, ICU staff and the STA at Midland Memorial hospital. You showed nothing but kindness, patience, and love for our family and Vanessa.
