Valerie Jean Ford, born on October 15, 1959, in Dixon, Illinois, passed away on September 13, 2024, in Universal City, Texas. A devoted stay-at-home mom, Valerie was the epitome of love and care, known as the sweetest person one could meet. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was sipping coffee while relaxing, engaging in meaningful conversations with her children and grandchildren, or playing her favorite card games.
Valerie was passionate about her hobbies, particularly reading and staying updated with the news. She cherished her time on her tablet and enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows, including "Courts" and "Reba." A true music lover, she found comfort in the songs of Reba McEntire, Patsy Cline, and Dolly Parton. Football was also close to her heart, and she was a dedicated fan of the Chicago Bears.
Valerie's life revolved around her family, and she took immense pride in her children: Amanda Oldham, Bud, Amber Bays, and Krystal Petkiewicz, along with her late daughter Angie. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. Valerie was widowed twice, having lost her spouses, Roger Moorehead and Steve Ford, and was survived by 11 siblings.
A lifelong Lutheran, Valerie lived by the motto, "The way I see it, if you want the rainbow then you have to put up with the rain," reflecting her resilient spirit. Her favorite place in the world was San Antonio, Texas, where she found peace and happiness. Valerie's legacy is one of unwavering love and dedication to her family, as well as a reminder of the impact of kindness and loyalty in the lives of those she touched. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
