Valerie Jean Brown, lovingly known as Jean, passed away on May 9, 2024, at the age of 84. She was born on February 14, 1940, in Detroit and had most recently resided in Vacaville, CA.

Valerie had a zest for life and enjoyed various hobbies including shopping, reading, watching sports, and bowling. She had an eclectic taste in music, with Robin Thicke and Blackstreet being among her favorite bands and artists. Valerie loved nothing more than spending time with her family, traveling, listening to good music, and cooking.

In her free time, Valerie delighted in watching old Western shows and passionately supported the Golden State Warriors and the 49ers. She was affectionately known as Jean and held a special place in the hearts of those around her.

Professionally, Valerie made significant contributions as a Program Director at Napa State Hospital and owner of Professional Janitorial Services. She was dedicated to her work and took pride in her career achievements.

Valerie was preceded in death by her late husband, Willie Brown. She leaves behind cherished memories for her son, Willie Brown III, and her daughter, Joy Brown Ingram. Her grandchildren, Ebony Ingram, Keshia Ingram, Nicole Brown, Willie Brown IV, Dominique Brown, and great-grandchildren Nevaeh Martin, Kalani Martin, Lolani Pearson, Jeremiah Pearson, and Antoine Lee Jr., will forever remember her love and warmth.

Valerie's sister, Tiny Cozart, survives her and will miss their close bond.

Valerie touched the lives of many through her empathy, sympathy, and generosity. She had a heart of gold and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Valerie was a devoted mother, sister, friend, grandmother, and lover of Jesus. She held her faith close and actively participated in the King Solomon and Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Valerie Jean Brown's impact will continue to be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, unwavering love, and her enduring devotion to her family and community. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Valerie will be dearly missed, but her memory will forever be cherished.
