Vaitupu Mageo, born on December 31, 1940, in Leone, American Samoa, passed away on December 8, 2024, in Long Beach, California. One of 17 siblings, Vaitupu was known for her strong, bold, and loving personality, which endeared her to friends and family alike.
Vaitupu dedicated her life to serving others through various professions, including her roles as a teacher, key punch operator, and kitchen manager for the Community Development Center. She was deeply passionate about her faith, accepting Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior and dedicating herself to spreading the gospel. Vaitupu was married to Meauta Lauoi Mageo, and together they created a loving home filled with faith and encouragement. Her proudest accomplishments included instilling her values in her 9 children, 24 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply.
She made a significant impact on those around her, always urging others to stay strong in the Lord and follow His ways. Vaitupu was actively involved in evangelism by going door to door sharing the gospel with all those she came in contact with. Vaitupu participated in various community outreach programs encouraging families to enroll their children in school as well. She loved cooking for the children at Community Development Center and the kids LOVED her coco rice! She placed a secret ingredient into all of her recipes, love.
Her feisty spirit and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
