Vadivelu Moodley, affectionately known as Baby Moodley, passed away on June 18, 2024, at the age of 100. He was born on October 11, 1923, in Pietermaritzburg, where he spent most of his life. Vadivelu was the beloved husband of Jaya Pillay and the proud father of three children, Rani, Shirley, and Sheila.

From a young age, Vadivelu had a passion for soccer and played the sport with great enthusiasm. He also enjoyed cycling, walking, and playing draughts. Vadivelu had a sweet tooth and could never resist a piece of chocolate. His favorite foods included pepper steak pies, fried fish, and delectable desserts.

Vadivelu's parents, Vijaraganan and Chinnama Moodley, instilled in him the value of faith and the importance of staying connected to the Lord. His favorite motto was "Keep your hands in the hands of the Lord." Vadivelu took great pride in seeing his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren serve and love the Lord.

Professionally, Vadivelu achieved great success despite the inequalities that surrounded him. He became the Manager of a closing, showcasing his determination and resilience. However, his proudest accomplishment was being the glue that held his family together. He was the foundation on which their household was built.

Vadivelu is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will forever be cherished by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
