REFECTIONS ON THE LIFE OF
Tyron Leonard Smith
Ty will be forever loved and missed by many. He passed away February 12, 2026 at the age of 61 in the home of his brother Michael Smith, in the arms of his great niece and nephew Nevaeh and Isaiah. He was born November 15, 1964 in Fort Riley, Kansas to Claud Smith and Dolores DeSale Smith. Both his mother and father preceded him in death.
Tyron lived a hard life as a child with no father figure to begin his life. At that time his father was away from home and he and his brothers and sisters were taken care of by his oldest brother Claud while his mother was working. As a young child Claud would take Ty and his brothers and sisters fishing in the nearby ponds. So, it was no wonder he loved fishing. When his dad came home, he would take the family on fishing and camping trips when, and when Ty was old enough, he was taught how to fish on his own.
In the growing years, time became hard for Ty growing up following behind two of his older brothers. They were not on their best behaviors and Ty was brought up with unrealistic expectations. As a young boy he attended Mount Miguel School in Spring Valley CA. where he played football and graduated.
He loved fishing and dogs. He would spend his spare time fishing alone or with his brother Michael. They would go to Otay Lake or other lakes around Spring Valley and surrounding areas. His passion became snorkeling at the Mission Beach Jetty where he would catch sea bass and sometimes octopus, squid and other edible sea urchins.
Tyron will always be loved and missed by his children and grandchildren, JasmineJanea Smith (Jonathon Jasiah, Joseph Jedidiah and David Jacob), Andrew Tyron Smith.
When you got to truly know Tyron you would know that he was a fun-lovingperson that would give you the clothes off his back to help you. He was preceded in death by his two brothers Claud Smith Jr., Curtis Smith, Avery Smith and a sister Doris J. Smith. He left behind his three brothers Michael A. Smith (Debbie), Andre Casey-Smith (Maria) and Donald Johnson Jr. Coreen) and four sisters CasSandra Johnson (Jerry – preceded in death), Damitra Smith, Lena Alston(Leroy - preceded in death), Donisha Jones (Melvin).
Tyron was also survived by a host of family leaving behind 4 cousins, 20 nieces and nephews and 22 great nieces and nephews, six aunts and uncles and his step-mother Lee Ann Casey-Smith.
We all say: YOU WILL TRULY BE MISSED DAD, BROTHER and UNCLE. WE WILL KEEP YOU IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER.
We'll plant real trees for you in Tyron's memory and display your contribution forever.
All condolences, notes and wishes in this book of memories.
