Travis was born in Asheville at mission hospital and was a life long resident of haywood county. He moved across the country to Washington state in 2002 where he worked in a mill and made lots of great friends. He moved back to his haywood county home in 2007 where he lived out his life

Travis was the most kind hearted person I have ever know. The best man I have known he wouldn't hurt a fly and would give you the shirt off his back. He will be greatly missed by many.

Obituary

Travis Lloyd Wright, lovingly known as Trav, passed away on August 4, 2024, at the age of 52. He was born on March 6, 1972, in Waynesville, NC, and was a lifelong resident of Haywood County.

Travis had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, and football, with the Green Bay Packers being his favorite team. He had a deep love for God, the Bible, and history. Travis's kind heart extended to animals, and he was an avid animal lover. He also had an appreciation for music, particularly rock and roll, with bands like Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam being some of his favorites. Travis was also fond of Jack Daniel's whiskey.

Born in Asheville at Mission Hospital, Travis moved to Washington state in 2002, where he worked in a mill and formed lasting friendships. In 2007, he returned to his Haywood County home, where he resided until his passing.

Family was of utmost importance to Travis, and he cherished his role as a father and grandfather. He is survived by his daughter Ashley Nicole Wright Stokely, son-in-law William Stokely, and grandchildren Lucas Kitchen, Kyler Kitchen, Addalynn Kitchen, and Lillian Stokely. and siblings Jason Carl Wright, Teresa Lynnette Wright, nephew Elijah Wright and his wife. Ex wife and soulmate Sharon Conner Wright and godson Alexander Jacobs also mourn his loss.

Travis was proceeded in death by his parents Nancy Wright, Winfred Richard Wright Jr. Sibling Laura Wright (stillborn) grandparents Winfred Richard Wright, Myrtle Middleton Wright. Geneva Pruett and Homer Pruett. Aunts Shirley Mills and Sandy Pruett.

Travis will be remembered for his heart of gold and his unwavering kindness. He had a gentle spirit and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Trav will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

A private service will be held to honor Travis's memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the local animal shelter in his name.

My dad passed unexpectedly he had no insurance and was on disability due to a car wreck years ago. I his only daughter will be responsible for his final expenses.
