Obituary

Tracy Smith, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated servant of the Lord, passed away on July 1, 2024, at the age of 86. He was born on August 18, 1937, in Nutley, NJ, and had been residing in Broward County, FL.

Tracy's life was filled with passion and purpose. He had a deep love for nature and birdwatching, often taking his grandchildren on nature trails to teach them about the diverse wildlife. Tracy also had a profound love for reading and history, which led him to create a personal library in his home.

Above all, Tracy's love for Jesus was at the center of his life. For over 20 years, he faithfully served as the Priest at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, dedicating his time and energy to spreading the word of God and providing support and guidance to those in need.

Tracy's family meant everything to him. He embodied the true essence of putting family first, leading with love, patience, and grace. His beloved wife, Barni, preceded him in death in 2015 after 58 years of marriage. Tracy is survived by his two daughters, Mandi and Kimberly, and his cherished grandchildren, Kala, Wyatt, Shaina, Kiersten, Quentin, Logan, Chloe, and Eli.

Tracy's impact on the lives of others was immeasurable. Through his prayers, comforting words, understanding nature, and contagious laughter, he touched the hearts of all who crossed his path. Tracy was a force guided by the Lord, informing and spreading the word of His people.

In tribute to Tracy's unwavering faith, he found strength in the words of Joshua 1:9, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

Tracy Smith will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, faith, and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with his beloved wife Barni in the arms of the Lord.
