Tonya Raynette Griffin-Simmons was born May 8, 1971, in Charlotte, NC. She is the daughter of John Henry (Raeford) Griffin and the late Carolyn Griffin. She was called home to be with the lord on Monday, April 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at home.

Tonya attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, NC. Tonya had such a beautiful and giving heart and found joy in giving back to the community by cutting children's hair. Tonya enjoyed singing with her family and had a powerful voice. She was also a talented dancer known for being the ‘’queen of the robot dance’ Tonya had a beautiful smile and was hilarious, she kept others around her laughing.

She was proceeded in death by her son; Antwan Mcrae Griffin and daughter; Antonette

Griffin both of Charlotte, NC.
