Thomas Royal Whitehead, son of Isaac Marshall Whitehead and Maryland McCargo, was born April 23, 1932. Thomas departed this life at his residence in Dallas, Texas on September 9, 2025.
Hello joined St. Michael Baptist Church at ten years of age and remained a faithful member for many years. He served in the United States Army and the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on November 13, 1968.
Thomas worked for the Department of corrections for many years and afterward enjoyed much-deserved retirement with Janice and his family. He later relocated to Dallas, Texas to fish on the Gulf and enjoy life. He loved spending time with family and cooking for the neighborhood. He also enjoyed watching boxing and spending time deep sea fishing with his correctional faculty friends and local neighbors.
Thomas leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving and caring wife of fifty-six years, Pearl Ellis of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by two daughters and a son: Thomas Royal Whitehead Jr of Buffalo, New York. Barbara Smith (David Smith) of Dallas, Texas. Gale Franklin (Quincy Franklin) of Drakes Branch, Virginia. Thomas is further survived by his eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren and a numerous nephews, cousins and friends.
