Thomas Paul Buckner Sr., affectionately known as Odie, passed away on July 2, 2024, in Sacramento, CA, his birthplace and most recent residence. Born on November 29, 1970, Thomas lived a life full of adventure and left an indelible mark on all those he encountered.

Thomas is survived by his loving children, Thomas Buckner Jr., Turu Buckner, and RuShakeema Buckner. He was a proud grandfather to Iyalani, Josiah, Malakai, Elias, Trinity, twins Elijah and Jeremiah, and Ace. Brother to Chester Jr.,Yolanda, Aladrian aka Punkin, Jeanette, Oshea, Danelle, Diana aka Chena and Brian. And a host of nephews and nieces and other family members.

In addition to his children and grandchildren, Thomas is survived by his father, Chester Buckner Sr., his mother, Barbara Fields, his brother Kevin Thompson, and his sisters Valery Buckner and Terina Granderson. They will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Known for his rebellious spirit and free-spirited nature, Thomas made a lasting impression on everyone he knew. His unique independence and sense of humor made him a remarkably unforgettable individual. Thomas truly impacted the lives of others with his infectious personality and genuine care for those around him.

Thomas had a strong attachment to his Meadowview neighborhood, where he grew up. He was a force to be reckoned with because of his deep love for the community. His leadership and contributions made a lasting impact on the lives of those he considered neighbors and friends.

Thomas Paul Buckner Sr. will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy of love, laughter, and a zest for life will be fondly cherished and forever remembered.
