Thomas "Tom" Lees, born on December 24, 1950, in Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, in Yuba City, California. He was the beloved son of James Lees and Ada McVey-Lees.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, sister Kathy Smith (Marion), and sister Nancy Lesslie (Peter). He has 3 surviving sisters, Gayle Lees-Sandlin (Dennis), Janet Lees-Lambard (Judson), and Laura Lees-Wallis (James).
Tom was a dedicated family man, cherished by his wife, Gloria Lees, and his two children, Rachel Horn (Clinton) and Bailey Morasch (Xavier). He took immense pride in being a grandfather to Audrey and Lily Horn, as well as Faith, Lucy, and Sawyer Morasch, who brought him endless joy.
A proud Vietnam veteran, Tom served in the Navy for 8 years. He loved the traveling he got to experience while serving his country and would often tell his story of becoming a Shellback.
For 20 years, Tom worked at Slakey Bros., where he was known for his hard work and commitment. A man with a heart full of laughter, Tom was renowned for his jokes and infectious sense of humor, teaching those around him the power of laughter in everyday life.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, whose lives were enriched by his warmth, wit, and love.
A celebration of life with military honors will be held August 29, 2024 from 1-3 pm at the Moose Lodge in Yuba City
