Thomas Edward Krueger, of Sabetha, KS, known affectionately as Tom, was born on March 25, 1953, in Ripon/Princeton, Wisconsin. He passed away on October 25, 2024, while visiting in New Hampshire.
Tom was a devoted husband to his wife, Nancy, whom he married in April 2024. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Kerri Hilbert (Levi), Nicole Rucker (Dale), and Hilary Cross (Brandon), as well as his step-daughter, Kelly Flentie (David Alvarado). He was a proud grandfather to eight cherished grandchildren: Harper, Karter, Kori, Keili, Kamdyn, Kyler Rucker; Emmitt Hilbert; and Weston Cross. Tom also leaves behind his sister, Ann Stein, and her husband Jerry, along with his prior spouses, Judy Krueger and Marla Cusumano.
An independent landscape designer, Tom found immense joy in his work and spent countless hours outdoors, nurturing both plants and friendships. His love for nature was matched only by his affection for his dog, Vinny. Tom was a passionate supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs, often spending weekends cheering for his favorite team.
Tom’s spirit shone brightly after his courageous battle with cancer in 2002, leading him to a life devoted to spreading happiness and joy to those around him. His infectious laughter and warm personality made him a beloved figure in his community. He was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fairview, Kansas, and dedicated time to supporting cancer research, reflecting his commitment to helping others.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society or Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH in memory of Tom. His legacy of kindness, humor, and love for family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
We'll plant real trees for you in Thomas's memory and display your contribution forever.
