May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness in his honor. A prayer service will be held January 14th at 11am at Harris funeral home, Berkeley, California
His early discipline led him to be accepted into the Maritime Academy where he would’ve been a cook on the ship as a merchant seaman a role that spoke to his love for cooking with his adventurous spirit.
In addition Therren frequently worked on construction sites. He had a remarkable ability to find employment opportunities and adapt to roles with ease. His resourcefulness was one of his defining traits. He approached life with determination and ingenuity.
Therren’s culinary talents extended beyond the ship’s galley. He was known amongst those who knew him as a great cook who took pride in preparing meals for others. His generosity and warmth were often expressed through food and acts of kindness. Therren always found ways to connect to others through kindness and care.
He is survived by his mother and father Henry Carmical Sr and Paulette Carmical, Stepmother Emma Carmical, siblings Henry Carmical Jr, Stan Washington, Felicia Washington, and Erica Washington, Godmother Eldora Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, too numerous to name.
