Teresa's superpower

To meet Terri was to love her, and her superpower was reminding people the true meaning of love and kindness. In July of 2005 Teresa suffered from a brain injury that left her unable to take care of herself, however; upon meeting her post injury you would see not a woman that was missing out on life, but a woman that loved with a fierceness and was able to bring people together by making the best of every moment.

Obituary

Teresa Lynn Bernott, affectionately known as Terri, passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on December 7, 1954, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of Homer Napier and Irene Cornett. Most recently residing in Jenison, Michigan, Teresa was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Teresa had a zest for life, spending her summer weekends by the lake surrounded by friends and family. She also treasured her winter getaways to Arizona, where she embraced the warmth and beauty of the desert. A fan of all music, she held a special place in her heart for the soulful melodies of Michael Bolton.

Before suffering a brain injury in July 2005, Teresa enjoyed shopping, crocheting, and traveling to the ocean. Following her injury, her love for life remained undiminished; she transformed every moment into a celebration of love and kindness, embodying the spirit of togetherness. Her superpower was her ability to remind everyone she met of the true meaning of love, making her a beacon of hope and joy in the lives of those around her.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Thomas Bernott, daughter, Elizabeth Lenartz, and son-in-law, Allen Lenartz, as well as her granddaughter, Ellianna Lenartz, who brought her immense joy. She is also remembered by her sister, Deborah Napier, and brother, Benjamin Napier.

Teresa Lynn Bernott will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for her fierce love, her vibrant spirit, and the unforgettable impact she made on everyone she encountered.
