Wherever he loved ones were.
Teresa Arreguin, born on May 20, 1941, in Mexico, passed away on November 4, 2024, in Joliet, Illinois. A devoted Catholic, Teresa was a faith-loving woman who cherished her family and made it the center of her life. She is remembered for her love of God and her ability to make everyone laugh with her sometimes sarcastic, often funny stories.
Teresa found joy in church gatherings, cooking delicious meals for her loved ones, and sharing life stories with anyone who would listen. Her favorite foods included seafood, pozole, fruits, vegetables, oatmeal, and pastries, often enjoyed in the company of family. She adored her grandchildren—Robert, Jade, Stefan, Christian, Alyssa, Damian, Aiden, Leland, Anais, Ariel, and Leo—along with her great-grandchildren, Yelena and Haley.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ruben Arreguin, and her children: Sara Calvert (Russell), Sandra Carlos (Arturo), Sonia Neyland, Ruben Arreguin, and Teresa Arreguin (Leo Alicia). Teresa was the daughter of Francisco and Guadalupe Garcia and sister to Hilacrio and Carmen Garcia.
Teresa was actively involved in her community, particularly with the Carmelitas Descalzas, where she dedicated her time to serving others. Her favorite musical artists included ABBA, particularly the song "Chiquitita," and the uplifting hymns she loved to sing in church.
A remarkable woman, Teresa had a unique ability to make each person feel special, never letting anyone leave her home without giving them her blessing. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her favorite place in the world was wherever her loved ones were, and her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
