Stuart's favorite hobbies

Stu loved his cats dearly. Whenever I called he was usually watching documentaries. He loved going on Cruises. Stu enjoyed Karaoke lounges.

Stuart's favorite foods

Stu did not have a discerning palate. He enjoyed all foods. I would have to say he was somewhat obsessed over Maryland Steamed Crabs.

Favorite bands and musical artists

While Stu did enjoy some specific Country Music, Lyle and Garth, Stu was a fan of Classic Rock & Roll. The Greats: Zeppelin, Floyd, G&R, etc.

Interesting facts about Stuart

Stu was a man of many talents. He was one hell of an impersonator. He loved blasting out a single line in the voice of another like... "Welcome to the Jungle," and countless more impersonations.

Stuart loved nothing more than

Making others laugh.

Favorite place in the world

Ocean City Maryland, The Bahamas, and being home with his Cats are a 3-way tie for 1st place.

Favorite TV shows

Stu loved documentaries. Primarily History as he was a sponge to learning new things, then promptly calling me right after to share his new found knowledge.

Favorite sports

Football, Baseball, and Surfing. We kept a sports channel on during our cruises, mostly extreme sports which Stu thoroughly enjoyed.

Stuart's profession(s)

Stu also followed our Father's footsteps into broadcasting. One of his 1st jobs was Promotions @ WBAL-TV / 98 Rock. He drove the 98 Rock Promotions Van to events and would hand out concert tickets and various other 98 Rock Swag randomly along the way. He did not mind this attention. He thrived on it. Later, he then shifted his focus on Promoting others by opening Stu's Casting Agency where he would place talent into Movies, Commercials and Videos. He enjoyed his work very much.

Stuart J. Scesney

November 4,1965 – August 7, 2024

Stuart Scesney, age 58, beloved brother and friend to many, was released from his earthly shell and escorted to the Ultimate Party in Heaven.

Please be glad for him as there is no more pain nor struggle to breathe, just joy and happiness, lots of reuniting with loved ones and we are certain, unlimited seafood for Stu!

Stu’s parents, Anthony J. Scesney(1981) and Gladys H. Scesney’s homecoming(2008) came years ago-claiming and staking out heavenly turf, setting up the Family Forever Homestead, to be prepared for loved ones , when invitations were issued.

Stu is survived by his brother, Bart Scesney (Cheri) and sister, Barbara Scesney-Johnson (Russell), all of Ashburn,VA.

He had beloved nephews, Brad Johnson (Monica) and Max Johnson and niece Olivia Scesney-Koslosky (Adam).

Stu also had a great nephew, Weston whom he had not yet met face to face, who did however sing-song him a get well ballad via Facetime that brought happy-tears to Stu’s eyes last week: “Get better Uncle GREAT Hulk Stu!”

Stu had had emergency-5 way bypass surgery in 2002 and was told that he could only expect to live 5 years, maximally however Stu CRUSHED IT and pressed on to live 22 years! His doctors and he himself marveled and referred to Stu as their CHF Poster Boy! Survivor and Thriver!

This past year had been rough and every breath he breathed was a battle won victory. But, determined to continue to influence and encourage others, specifically his CHF Support Group Network, which he had established on FB, Stu fueled himself with the joy and happiness he found living in “his cabin in nature, poolside” with his 5 cats and various now domesticated woodland creatures whom he named and who visited him regularly. Additionally, he loved visiting his recently re-homed dog, Bailey. Stu’s fond memories of his first dog, Fawn, are happily now being realized as we have no doubt that she was a big part of Stu’s Welcome Home!

Stu graduated from Dulaney High School (1983) and then Broadcast Institute of Baltimore. He applied for and earned the coveted position as the “PR and Promotions Guy” for 98 ROCK! He could frequently be seen driving the attention grabbing 98 ROCK! van through town, window down, big smile and waving to all, as he drove to or from various promotional functions.

Stu held various freelance jobs and then took a position with a non-profit, Cystic Fibrosis Association.

The crown jewel of Stuart J. Scesney’s career was the creation and launching of his successful modeling and casting agency: STU’s CASTING. His lifelong authentic appreciation of and eye for beautiful women served him well and thanks to his Angel Investor and amazing friend was lucrative and lots of fun for many.

Based upon his knowledge, experience and industry savvy garnered Stu wrote and published a book to inform the public of the potential industry perils: HOW TO ENTER THE WORLD OF CASTING AND MODELING WITHOUT GETTING RIPPED OFF (still available online and electronically).

A private family only dedication will be held -followed by a Celebration of Life (August 21st 4-7 pm @ Hightopps in Timonium) which we would be remiss in not calling a STU- abration!

We will toast Stu, gather in fellowship and share funny stories, love and laughter, as we honor this kindhearted very observant and funny man!

In lieu of flowers, we ask that those who are so inspired donate to THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION, in Stuart Scesney’s name and honor.
