Obituary

In loving memory of our beloved father, Stuart Duane Casper.

Stuart was born October 29, 1926, in Richmond Hill, New York, and died on January 3, 2023, at 96 years old, in Palm Bay, Florida.  He lost one kidney during a  childhood accident.  He obtained BS degree at RPI in Troy, NY, and a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering at Columbia. Then, a few years later, married Doris I. Reynolds on November 24, 1951.  In February 1953, along with 3 other design engineers and a $20,000 engineering services contract,  Stuart formed NAssau Research & Development Associates (NARDA).  They started in the back of a machine shop in Mineola, and the company steadily grew its product line from instruments to passive components to multifunction subsystems.  He is survived by his three sons, Doug, David, and Richard, seven grandchildren Paul, Robert, Heather, Danielle, Douglas, Michael, and Geoffrey, and five great grandchildren Benjamin, Emily, Levi, Madeline, and Ivy   Stuart has always been very active in the Episcopal church (presently known as the Anglo-Catholic Church), even traveling 40 minutes each way to attend services in Statesville, NC. He later joined the Roman Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in St. Petersburg, Florida. Stuart was a wonderful husband, father, and grandpa.  He took his family on many terrific vacations.  The family often played games and had jam sessions.  They had rides and water skiing on the “Friendly Ghost”, the family’s Boston Whaler. He and Dee (Doris) hosted many fun parties…
