Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Steven Joseph McGowan, age 46, who left us on August 2, 2025 in his Elk Grove home.
Born on May 13, 1979, Steven lived a life filled with kindness, hard work, and love for his family and friends. He will be remembered for his generosity, sense of humor, and unwavering support for those he cared about.
Steven is survived by his loving partner Bernice, two loving children, Josiah and Courtney, and everyone who shared a relationship with him during his time on earth.
He found joy in surfing, fishing, cliff jumping, community service, working, weight lifting, and more. To those who knew him, he was more than just a friend or family member—he was a source of strength and inspiration.
Though his time with us was far too short, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held on August 11th at Destiny Church Sacramento, where loved ones will gather to honor his life and legacy. All who knew and loved Steven are welcome to attend.
