Steven Joseph Mark "Cowboy" Fryer, 28, passed away on March ----, 2025, in Houston, Texas.of suicide Born on July 22, 1996, in Houston, Steven was a proud Texan who embraced life with a fierce spirit and an open heart
Steven attended Galena Park High School and carried with him a deep sense of loyalty and protection for those he cared about. He was known for his unwavering morals—treating others with respect, standing against dishonesty, and always giving his best until there was no other option left. Though he may not have had much in material wealth, he gave freely of what he did have—his time, his care, and his fierce devotion to those around him.
An outdoorsman at heart, Steven found solace in hiking and fishing. He enjoyed driving around aimlessly, embracing the freedom of the open road. He had a mischievous streak that led him into trouble now and then, but it was always accompanied by a good-natured charm. His dog was his steadfast companion, offering him comfort through life's ups and downs. His sometimes-girlfriend Naomi orenday also held a special place in his heart forever; together they shared moments of peace and love amid life's storms.
Above all else, Steven was a protector. He looked out for his sister Ashlee Fryer with unwavering dedication and extended that same care to Naomi if not more. He bore the weight of the world on his shoulders but rarely let it show. Even when life tested him, he remained true to himself—never raising a hand in anger unless justified and never betraying those who trusted him
Steven is survived by his loving mother Tonya Fryer and father Steve Fryer; his sister Ashley Fryer; his niece Alaina Lopez; and nephews Andrew Reyes, Nicholas, and Noah. He was preceded in death by his uncle Gene St. Germain, Albert Wilkerson, and his beloved Nanny Doris
Though he has left this world too soon, those who knew Steven will carry forward the memories of his kindness, strength, and unyielding spirit. May he find peace at last as he watches over us from above
