Obituary

Steven J. Osborn, 72, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025. Born in Bluffton, Indiana on July 26, 1952, Steven lived a life filled with dedication, laughter, and a deep love for his family.

He graduated from Norwell High School, Class of 1970, before proudly serving his country as a United States Air Force member. Following his service, Steven embarked on a distinguished career as a truck driver, spending over 25 years with Palletized Trucking, achieving a remarkable perfect driving record. He also dedicated over 10 years to Coca-Cola in Houston. His dedication and professionalism were exemplary throughout his working life. Retirement allowed him to fully embrace his passions.

Steven was a skilled woodworker, finding joy in crafting beautiful pieces with his hands. He was also a captivating storyteller, entertaining all who knew him with his engaging tales. But perhaps his greatest joy came from playing Santa Claus for his beloved great-grandchildren – a role he cherished and embraced with unmatched enthusiasm. This act perfectly captured his generous spirit and his deep love for his family.

He was survived by his Brothers Kevin Osborn and Ed Osborn. His children survive him: Shierry Murray, Steven Osborn Jr., Lillian Miles, Glen Johnson, Lindy Rice, Paula Starnes, and Randy Starnes; his grandchildren: Crystal Murray, Jessica Murray, Nona Osborn, Dean Osborn, Jacob Osborn, Renee Gardiner-Elper, Michael Johnson, Harold Johnson, Zachary Rice, Zander Rice, David Leasure, Brian Riggs, Doyle Starnes, and Jason Starnes; and his great-grandchildren: Peyton Gardiner, Sasha Mendoza, Skylar Leasure, Olivia Johnson, Michael Elpers, Paisley Elpers, and Sylvie Leasure. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ginger Riggs, in 2020.

Steven was a member of the American Legion, a testament to his commitment to service and community.

Steven’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him. His kind heart, unwavering dedication, and infectious laughter will be profoundly missed.

As Steven would say at the end of every visit, "We'll get at it and talk to you later!'
