Stephen Ray Lowrance, 76, of Rutherford College, NC passed away on May 16th, 2026. Born February 22nd, 1950, in Charlotte, NC.

As a young man, Stephen served his country as a proud member of the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. His military service shaped him into a strong principled man of honor.

Following the service he worked with Town and Country Ford Motors as a skilled motor mechanic. He then served as co-owner of Case Brother Piano Company in Charlotte. This led to his own business New Horizon Piano Service.

Beyond his professional life, Stephen was a gifted woodworker and loved working outside. He loved classic cars, building models, art, and all things science fiction. In his youth he was known as "Barrels" with the Carolina Clowns. With that he was able to bring joy to many.

Stephen is survived by: his wife Sherry; four daughters Margie, Eva, Melissa, and Leslie; his cherished grandchildren Spencer, Veronika, Kaylei, Zoey, and WillieJack; and his beloved granddogs.

While condolences are appreciated there will not be a formal service. Please feel free to plant a tree in his honor. Daddy, we will always miss you. Gone but never forgotten. Fly with the eagles.
