He loved to stop by his favorite Mexican restaurant in Port Orchard but at home he had fun quickly fixing peppers with cream cheese. He enjoyed many aspects of cooking but left the baking to Pam.
Steve was born on a warm sunny day in Seattle on July 29, 1950. He arrived in Sitka with his mom via Grummon Goose and was greeted by his dad, Bob Petro, his grandparents Andrew and Tillie Hope and big sister.
He was an avid Armchair athlete. He loved to participate in football and baseball from the comfort of home.
He loved his dachshunds and could be seen riding through town with Oscar in the basket. Lucy missed out on the joy rides as she joined the family after Steve's riding days were over

He also had a knack for cooking, delighting in whipping up quick meals featuring his favorite peppers with cream cheese, while leaving the baking to his wife, Pam. His love for food led him to frequent his favorite Mexican restaurant in Port Orchard.
Stephen was a man of many hobbies, finding joy in gardening, hunting, and the simple pleasure of watching TV sports. He will be remembered for his kindness, adventurous spirit, and the love he had for his family and his pets.
