Socorro Cabada, affectionately known as Tia, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, in El Paso, Texas, at the age of 80. Born on January 15, 1944, in Santa María del Oro, Durango, Mexico, Tia was a beloved figure whose warmth and creativity touched the lives of everyone around her.

As a jack of all trades, Socorro embraced a variety of occupations throughout her life, showcasing her remarkable ability to organize and put things together. Her creativity flourished at the senior center, where she enjoyed making ceramic pieces with friends. She was known for her love of Mexican food, especially the delectable pan dulce from Bowie Bakery, which she cherished.

Family was the cornerstone of Socorro's life. She thrived in the company of her nieces and nephews, who adored her like a mother. Tia was the matriarch of the family, the backbone that held everyone together. She was not only strong in her support for others but also embodied love in every interaction.
