Silvia Gonzales, 68, passed away on May 7, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on July 13, 1956, Silvia lived a life centered around love for her family and deep devotion to those closest to her.

She worked at Tech for many years before dedicating herself fully to her home and family as a housewife. Her warmth and presence were a constant source of strength and joy to those around her.

Silvia is survived by her two daughters, Jessica Cerda and Vanessa Gonzales (Ramiro Vera); eight grandchildrenRobert, Ashley, Malachi, Ezadrin, Adrin, Armando, Bella, and Christopher; and one great-granddaughter, Brynlee, whom she adored beyond words. She also leaves behind one brother, Reymundo Castillo Jr., and two sisters, Linda Jimenez and Antonia Flores.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Mario; her parents, Reymundo and Frances Castillo; one brother; and three sisters.

Silvia’s love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She cherished every moment spent with her daughters, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, siblings, nieces, nephews, and especially her Godson Mikie Flores. Her kind soul touched many lives, and she will be remembered as a devoted mother and an even more devoted grandmother.

A memorial service will be held at The Dwelling Place Church on Friday, May 16th, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
