Shirley Jones, affectionately known as "Firecracker," passed away on February 22, 2024. She was born on October 3, 1936, in Mississippi. Shirley had the privilege of calling Chicago, IL, her home in recent years, but her heart belonged to Jamaica, her favorite place in the world.

Shirley dedicated 35 years of her life to the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), leaving a lasting impact on her colleagues and the community she served. She was known for her hard work and dedication to her profession.

In 1956, Shirley met and married Robert, sharing a deep bond and a lifetime of love. Together, they raised five children and were blessed with twelve grandchildren. Shirley cherished her family and found great joy in spending time with her loved ones.

Survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of family and friends, Shirley's impact reached far and wide. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and affection, which touched the lives of all who knew her.

Shirley Jones will be dearly missed but forever remembered for her vibrant spirit, dedication to her profession, and the love she showered upon her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
