Shirley Rae Even Armstrong was born in Seattle, Washington on June 9, 1953, to Cecil & Roberta Even. She was the seventh of nine children and the youngest girl.
In 1980 Shirley took single motherhood like a champ. She made it to school functions, band, orchestra concerts, and our sporting events and even coached. All while working full-time at Libby Owens Ford in Sherman. She was the first female Maintenance Journeyman at LOF and could fix anything. This beautiful lady showed her girly artistic side in her ceramics and porcelain dolls.
After leaving LOF when they closed. She moved to Arlington to be closer to her children Tabitha & Chuck and her four grandchildren Miki, Christian, Mia, and Rex. She worked at a couple of places but none of them had her heart like the folks of LOF.
In 2009 Shirley was diagnosed with Parkinson's and retired early to become a Parkinson's warrior. She fought with courage and bravery that you don't often see. She stayed active by joining virtual walks walking across China and Texas often leading the pack. In late July 2022, she was diagnosed with aggressive cancer. She very bravely decide she had enough and succumbed to cancer on November 3, 2022.
Shirley is survived by her children & grandchildren
Tabitha Lea Armstrong & husband Wayne McNeil of Arlington, children Miki & Christian
Charley (Chuck) Thomas Armstrong & wife Michelle of Lewisville, children Mia and Rex
